Sharing stories through music, books, and film
MUSIC An eight-time Dove Award-nominated singer/songwriter and producer, Andrew’s critically-lauded Angel Band and Tune My Heart recordings have featured collaborations with some of the top names in Americana and Gospel music.
“It has always been my hope that the songs I help to write and record would open up a course of dialogue within one’s self, with each other, and in between people and God,” Andrew shares of the motivation in curating, co-producing, and recording the best-selling Tune My Heart…Songs of Rest & Reflection. “When we recorded the first Tune My Heart project, I did not anticipate how much our world would change, and how music that channels peace would be needed more than ever for mental and spiritual well-being.”
The record immediately hit Number One at retail and inspired a sequel, Tune My Heart 2…Songs of Goodness & Love. The series spent a combined total of 27 weeks in the Number One position at retail stores. “Tune My Heart 2 is framed with the state of our world in mind—as we move forward in light of ongoing challenges as a people and culture, we have great hope that indeed our Creator’s thoughts towards us are ones of goodness and—above all—love.”
Over the last year, Andrew has also developed and co-produced a string of recent recordings tributing the distinctive song catalog of iconic singer-songwriter Rich Mullins. Both Bellsburg … The Songs of Rich Mullins-a tribute record featuring artists like Amy Grant, Kevin Max, Andrew Peterson, Audrey Assad, Sara Groves, Greer, and many others, and Deep Valley-a recently discovered live Mullins record never-before released debuted at Number One on the iTunes Christian music charts.
Andrew’s brand new full-length album, Songs From the Dark, features new songs penned by Andrew to constitute his first singer-songwriter album in over 10 years. Songs From the Dark will release Winter 2024.
BOOKS: Carrying on his affinity for sharing stories and inspiring meaningful conversation, Andrew has authored two books—Transcending Mysteries: Who is God, and What Does He Want From Us? (Thomas Nelson) co-authored with Ginny Owens, and Winds of Heaven, Stuff of Earth: Spiritual Conversations Inspired by the Life and Lyrics of Rich Mullins (Worthy Publishing).
“Living in our world isn’t easy with so many voices, so many opinions, and so few listeners,” Greer expresses. “I hope sharing some of my own story, and how it has intersected with others and with my Creator, can encourage folks to be slower to speak and quicker to listen. We—that includes me—have much to learn from each other if we will just open our hearts and ears.”
In 2023, Andrew further explored these themes as a featured speaker on the renowned TEDxTalk stage, delving into the transformative potential of self-discovery through the art of being present with others in a talk entitled, “Social Belonging: The Power of Loving Your Neighbor.”
FILM: Continuing his love for facilitating conversations that dig deep, Andrew is also the co-creator and co-host of the popular streaming series Dinner Conversations with Mark Lowry and Andrew Greer, having been streamed over 40 million minutes since its debut in 2017 and broadcast in millions of homes nationwide. He also serves as the director and host of the K-LOVE On Demand series Empty Stage with Andrew Greer, featuring hard-hitting interviews and lifestyle pieces with such notable guests as film actor Dennis Quaid, music legend CeCe Winans, and up-and-coming hitmaker Blessing Offor.
Additionally, Greer co-hosts and co-produces Bridges with Patsy Clairmont and Andrew Greer: Spiritual Connections Through Generational Conversations, a podcast inviting listeners of all ages to find common ground through honest dialogue. The show landed in the Top 15 on Apple’s Religion & Spirituality podcast chart following its debut last year.
“The ability to pause, sit around a table, and ask questions of people from all ages, backgrounds and perspectives has given me a new foundation for seeking understanding in the hardest of dialogues, “as well as a fresh lens through which to experience faith.” Greer says of his experience motivating thoughtful on-camera conversations with hundreds of guests over the last decade.
Andrew’s first documentary, Plainspoken, explores race-related issues in the rural Deep South through the lens of Plains, Georgia–the birthplace and home of former President and First Lady of the United States, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. Plainspoken released this year on PBS.
When not on the road, Andrew splits his time between his homes in Columbia, Tennessee and Plains, Georgia.
Songs From the Dark
NEW FROM ANDREW GREER!
THE FIRST SINGER-SONGWRITER RECORD IN A DECADE
This record is a coming home to myself. Just me, an instrument, and a canvas brushed with some of my history. With emotions borne from making it to the other side.
This year has been a full year (plus some) of coming back home––admitting what I love, and what I don’t. Accepting who I am, and who I am not. Confessing who I want to be, and who I don’t want to be. Hoping to treat others how I want to treat others, and how I want to be treated. These are my songs for the dark … my search for the light.
